People (very) often ask me: “where do you find the time?” The answer is simple: you don’t find time. You make it. Creativity is a choice, a space you carve out for yourself.

For me this project is about exploring my creative boundaries. I feel a hunger to create, to express, to transform ideas into sound, color and form. Music, painting, fashion, writing.. Each opens a new door and offers new insights. Together they shape who I am and who I am becoming.

Gyzen is not about one discipline, but about the freedom to follow curiosity. In the studio I craft tracks that blend emotion and energy. With a paintbrush or charcoal in hand I translate stories onto canvas. At the sewing machine I give forgotten fabrics new life as wearable art. And through writing I discover new perspectives.

This is a journey I’ve only just begun, but it already fuels me with purpose. Gyzen is not just a project: it is a way of living, creating and inspiring.

I’m Gijs-Jan Witkamp, born and raised near Tilburg (the Netherlands). My creative journey started in my student room in Utrecht, where I spent nights behind the decks while studying at university. In 2012 I turned an idea into my first real company, which eventually grew to over 100 employees.

Since 2022 I’ve begun a new chapter: exploring music, art and fashion alongside my work as an entrepreneur. For me creativity is a form of meditation. A place where I find peace and energy. I read a lot, I create a lot, and I keep pushing my own boundaries.

Most of all, I am a proud father of three. They inspire me more than anything else and keep me grounded in what truly matters.
